Dispute details:
Poor quality workmanship and failure to meet minimum building regulations requirements
Was Kendal Bristol Homes, now changed to JDK Building Solutions - Bristol.
Poor quality side extension to the extent that it fails to meet even the minimum standards required to pass building regulations, despite being assured that the building inspector came throughout the process which was not true. The building inspector only came twice and noted many issues he did not address, despite photos he submitted suggesting otherwise. Although the builder said the building was now 'complete', this was not the case and he was paid in full. Building regulations have confirmed many outstanding issues, and the side extension is not legal.
In addition to the above, independent reports show serious concerns relating to drainage, electrics (a fire hazard) and the roof highlighting the poor quality workmanship which is totally unacceptable. These serious issues should not have existed whatsoever and are contrary to what he states on his website relating to many satisfied customers. The website claims we employ a range of qualified tradesmen fully available to us, all of whom are experienced, polite, and reliable! This was not true - some people were fired and employed, poor communication to chase when they were coming to do work and seriously question whether they were fully qualified (the electrician report for example was truly shocking).
Legal action is being pursued (and a few other customers), but the builder has not engaged. The change of business name tells you everything you need to know. Appalling workmanship and constant change of business names. Stay well clear and ignore the feedback - you have been warned!
