Mismanagement of the project. At the start of the project we were told it would take 12 weeks to build a new extension and to bring an existing 2nd floor dormer up to code with new insulation and steels. The job took over 2 years and was completed to a poor standard. The main builder was on site rarely (5-6 times over 24+ months) and relied on subcontractors, checking their work via video calls. There was a high turnover of subcontractors mainly as a result of disputes with payment from the main builder. Poor workmanship and unprofessional behaviour from some of the subcontractors (an electrician and plaster were intoxicated whilst on site and showed aggressive behaviour towards the homeowner). The Building Inspector stated that “some of the methods used are questionable and the overall detailing and finish is poor”.
Ongoing issues with the roof leaking which started in December 2022 and still has not been fixed and it is now September 2023. After repeated assurances that he would send someone round to fix the roof, the builder is no longer responding to calls, messages or emails.

Damage was caused to the property of our neighbour. Due to the poor management and poor communication between the builder and the neighbour it was necessary to involve a Party Wall Surveyor to manage the dispute and also required an independent/ third party builder to complete the repairs to the neighbour’s property, all at the expense of the homeowners. The repairs were eventually completed approximately 18 months after the initial damage.

Multiple emails and calls with the main builder over the course of 9 months which resulted in two efforts being made to fix the roof. None of these have succeeded and last contact was on the 16th August 2023. We gave the builder 1 week to respond in mid September 2023 before we started to pursue legal action, we still haven't had a response from the builder.

This website presents itself as if it is a legal platform for genuine disputes. Even using the scales of justice in its logo. It isn’t. It is just a platform allowing people to post fake reviews and fake posts. If you explore the small print it actually states it does not check the validity of the claims or get involved in them. So it just allows anyone to write anything without checking if it is true or real. I am the owner of Pebble Design and Build and the claims made are false and this is not a real account. I am currently taking action to have this removed.
