APACHE CONSTRUCTION LIMITED

We have had our home renovated in 2020, and estimate that replacement of glazed door fittings, rebuild of a porch and repairs to kitchen installation would cost in excess of £30000. The workmanship has been poor and materials used not of a good quality. Much of the installation will require refitting in a short time due to poor quality work, plus we have been advised we were significantly overcharged from the outset of the renovation. The operations director pressured us for payments even when questioning the quality and standard of the work and the management of the company as a whole, refused to produce a breakdown of costs entirely, despite repeated requests for this documentation.

We made direct requested for areas to be refitted such as kitchen units, the porch construction, and made a complaint via the national federation of builders for support in mediation with the company, only to find the representative for them sympathised with the builders that had overcharged an estimated £20000 at the point of the original quote, which we later found was way above what it should have been but was endorsed by the architect. We sought advice from citizens advice, and solicitors that agreed we had a viable case though this company didn’t appear to hold enough funds to proceed to court, so we were advised we’d not get financially reimbursed. We therefore have, so far over spent on works that will need replacing long before they should and at further expense, whilst this company charged over £72000 for their part of the works, and refuse to rectify their poor installations. (we have spent a further £24000 with other contractors to carry out parts of the work such as flooring and kitchen counters and extra cost that arose from the renovation).
