Dispute details:

Furniture Pack never installed

I purchased the unit back in 2017 inclusive of the furniture pack that would have been installed within 1 month from the date of completion.

After completion, the developer asked me for additional money in order to have my furniture installed.
Because I refused to offer more consideration for the furniture pack, the developer never install the pack and my property has been unfurnished for 6 months now.

The value of the furniture pack was about £4,440 on 2017. More recently, an agency whose director is same as for Furness Quay Phase 4 Ltd. They offered to furnish my property for just over a couple of grands with low cost furniture that doesn't even match the value of the high spec promised in their initial offer.

This is a breach of the terms of the contract and as such, I would like to be compensated for the capital loss and the revenue loss that resulted in not being able to occupy the property nor letting it out.

Monetary value of dispute computation method explained below

1) Value of the furniture pack

CPI in 2023 126.694
CPI in 2017 104.242

Subtract the past date CPI from the current date CPI and divide your answer by the past date CPI. Multiply the results by 100.

Result=21.54%

The price of the furniture pack was £4,440. As the property has been negotiated I adjusted the price of the furniture pack to £4,210.

£4,210x121.54%= 5,117

2) Value of loss of revenue

Rental value £750 pcm

£750x6=£4,500

1+2=9,617

Attempts to resolve dispute:

I contacted many time the commercial manager working for the management company who approached me back in 2022 asking for more money. I also contacted the on site manager several times.
