Abandoned job half way through
Owner of the company and his team started single Garage conversion to an en-suite bedroom back in Nov 2021. We have given them enough time and took all the sickness of their team on board and bore the pain for 6 months. Even after that they weren’t coming and stopped coming altogether. But they have been completing some big jobs elsewhere.
Absolutely no empathy what so ever as this bedroom was planned for my mother-in-law who is always upstairs and couldn’t come downstairs often. So thought this would give her great quality of life by being downstairs- mentally & physically. Now her health gotten even worse and she is now having angiogram along with heart stent procedure as her symptoms gotten worse over the last 6-12 months.
We had to scoop all our savings and put it in this conversion.
They have left our front yard in a mess for a long time - weeks and months
They have left our side way dug up and left it for months.
They don’t respond for days. They don’t turn-up for weeks/months
Asked doubts to handover the remaining work to another builder but no response at all.
They abandon the job and don’t communicate whatsoever.
Very unhappy with the attitude towards the job and very unprofessional. Didn’t communicate and doesn’t turn-up as promised.
We are stuck as the job is unfinished, already paid 95% of the invoice, no other builder can quote as they don’t know what the connections are given, also can’t afford the new costs by other builders.
So I am now asking for last invoice refund as per my letter to him plus additional for all the damages and stress caused due to this.
