Since the completion of our roof replacement (strip and re-slate the front and rear) in March 2020 we have continued to have the same ongoing issues with water ingress.

In June 2020, it became clear that our issues had not been resolved by replacing the roof as advised. I called Henderson and Aitken on a weekly basis to organise site visits and dates for workmen to return to rectify all the outstanding issues. Although many people returned to view my property, no further works were carried out. I was advised on numerous occasions that workmen would attend and then never turned up.

In October 2020, I emailed Henderson and Aitken expressing my dissatisfaction with the level of service I received following payment of circa £25,000 for the roof. I requested that my property be prioritised as I did not wish to see another winter in a property that is still not fully protected from the elements nor did I wish to pay additional costs for repairs due to further, avoidable, water ingress. I suggested that should they have insufficient resources to complete the works, I had no issue with it being sub-contracted to a 3rd party but this would be at their cost.

Between October and December 2020, Henderson and Aitken did return to the property a number of times and carried out some remedial works but our issues remain.

After a number of years troubleshooting, we consulted a specialist who has provided a report detailing his findings and expert opinion, along with photographic evidence of poor workmanship. I emailed copies of the documents including the quotation for the removal cost to Henderson and Aitken and respectfully requested a partial refund to cover the full remedial costs.

I’m still awaiting a response.
