Shlifer Healthcare provided contracted hospice physician and clinical oversight services to Frieden Hospice through April 30, 2025, under a formal service agreement. Frieden Hospice issued a 30-day termination notice effective April 4, 2025, citing financial hardship and decreased patient census. At the time of termination, three invoices for February, March, and April 2025 remained unpaid, totaling $10,150.
Despite repeated outreach from Shlifer Healthcare’s administrative team, Frieden Hospice has not remitted any payment toward the balance. A structured payment plan was offered by Shlifer Healthcare on May 23, 2025, proposing three equal installments of $5,350 per month (June–August 2025). Frieden Hospice declined this and countered with a reduced offer to pay $1,000 per month, citing financial difficulties. No payments have been received to date.
Shlifer Healthcare made several follow-up attempts via email from April through August 2025, including final notices and a warning that continued nonpayment could be escalated to regulatory authorities (CMS).
